Returns & Refunds Policy

1. General Right of Return (Cooling-Off Period)

As a customer of Original Gifts ZA, you are entitled to a general right of return as follows:

  • The right to return goods for any reason
  • No penalty will be charged for returning goods

However:

  • The customer is responsible for the cost of returning the goods
  • Return courier costs will be communicated and quoted upon request

2. Conditions for Return

To be eligible for a return, the following conditions must be met:

  • The item must be in the same condition as received
  • The item must be unused and unworn
  • The item must be returned in its original packaging
  • All tags (if applicable) must be intact
  • Proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation) must be provided

We reserve the right to decline returns that do not meet these conditions.


3. Return Process

To initiate a return:

  1. Contact us at info@originalgifts.co.za
  2. Provide your order details and reason for return
  3. We will provide:
    • Return instructions
    • A quotation for the return courier cost

Returns must be sent to:

Important:

  • Returns must be approved before being sent
  • Items returned without prior approval will not be accepted

4. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

You are required to inspect your order upon delivery.

If your item is:

  • Damaged
  • Defective
  • Incorrect

Please contact us as soon as possible at info@originalgifts.co.za.

We will review the issue and determine the appropriate resolution, which may include:

  • Replacement of the item
  • Repair (where applicable)
  • Refund
  • Collection of the item

Each case will be assessed individually in accordance with applicable law.


5. Exchanges

We allow exchanges subject to the following conditions:

  • The item must meet all return eligibility requirements
  • Exchanges are permitted only for items of the same value

Process:

  • The original item must first be returned and approved
  • Once approved, the replacement item will be processed

6. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return:

  • Jewellery and earrings (for hygiene reasons)
  • Personal care items
  • Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases
  • Gift cards
  • Sale or discounted items

If you are unsure whether your item qualifies, please contact us before initiating a return.


7. Refunds

7.1 Inspection and Approval

Once your return has been received and inspected, we will notify you whether your refund has been approved.

Returns that do not meet the required conditions may be rejected.


7.2 Refund Processing

If your refund is approved:

  • The refund will be issued to your original payment method
  • Processing will take place within 10 business days

Please note:

  • Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to process the refund
  • If more than 15 business days have passed since approval, you may contact us for assistance

8. Additional Notes

  • We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not comply with this policy
  • This policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions
  • Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA)
